Gmod keeps on crashing even after trying multiple possible fixes - Help

Okay, so this has been really pissing me off for the last week or so. My game has been constantly crashing from a few seconds to a few minutes after joining servers. I'm not sure if this has to do with the same issue, but when I try to play the game in singleplayer, it crashes immediately as well. I've tried verifying the game cache, updating my video drivers and reinstalling Garry's Mod, still not working. Some help would be appreciated.

I'm still having problems playing in single player though, any idea what's up with that? It crashes during loading any map. Well dammit, cleaning up the materials, models, and maps didn't help either...

Well, it seems to have fixed for now. I wouldn't get too excited, I'll see if it happens any more. Thanks for your help.

We're still trying to figure out what about it is making me crash, though.

Okay, now I've narrowed it down to a particular player (not naming them). I always crash whenever this one player is on, and it's only just me who crashes. Even if the player has nothing out - no props, no E2s, no PAC outfits, nothing - I crash, as long as they are on. How is that possible?

Found it for real this time! There were special characters in the player's name. They removed them, poof, it's like it never happened. I think it might have to do with some settings on my end (system locale, system language, etc.) but they were nice enough to remove the characters from their name so yeah, I'm considering this solved.
