• Game takes too long to load

Hello, first time posting here. I'm having problems with Garry's Mod. So, the title says it all. I can launch the game from Steam without any problems but when it gets to the menu, it takes waaaaay too long to load, like 20 to 30 minutes. The thing is, I don't have ANY addons installed, I can run newer games just fine, and I haven't made any hardware changes recently. Not sure if it was a coincidence or not, but the problem started when I marked all the menu 'boxes' in which it allows you to select from which games it should use addons/custom content (TF2, DOD, CSS, etc), reinstalled it and uninstalled most of the games I had marked on those 'boxes'. I have all Valve games but only CSS/HL1/HL2/EP1 and EP3/DOD:S installed, but I'm assuming that has nothing to do with it? PC Specs are: XP 32bits 4850 512mb Phenom 9650 x4 3GB ram EDIT: Forgot to mention, this problem has started recently, and I own Gmod since 2008. EDIT2: I also forgot to mention that I've tried reinstalling it, deleting both Gmod folders (from /common/gmod and (myaccount)/gmod), and verifying game cache.
Your computer isn't the best. Yes, loading content and ESPECIALLY ADDONS takes a long time. So ensure you don't have a shitload of addons.

Oh, and I forgot to mention, this started recently, before that, the game took about 30~50 seconds to load and I had a shitton of addons installed.
Go to your Steam games list > right click on Garry's Mod > Properties > Local Files > Then first press "Verify integrity of game cache", then press "defragment cache files". When GMod was acting up on me, being really slow, that helped out.
Yeah, I already tried to reinstall it. Twice.
Um that's not uninstalling, that's just defragging the files and cleaning it up.
For things which only started recently, try to remove all the addons you previously added (copy out of gmod) and see if there is any significant difference when loading. I once had the problem that a single addon was messing up the whole game.

Also why are you so hesistent on trying the verification? That thing works wonders most of the time, EVEN if you have a clean install.

I deleted both of my Gmod folders before reinstalling it to make sure no addons were left behind.

Help?
