Is it possible to make like 2 entries in your steam library? The first one with Garry's Mod and the second with Garry's Mod [dev]?
Sadly not, but you could copy your a dev folder, call it dev and put your other ones name as stable. Change between by using filenames.
If you have an alternate steam account, just Family Share it across

There is no need for this really, the "different class tables" error when joining servers will be gone for sometime after the update releases, other then that, you can play with Dev client on normal servers.
You could install Steam to two different locations and have two different steamapps versions. Just make sure you turn off Steam Cloud sync.
Thats sad because i saw it in garry's library
