I understand many people have an issue with hl2.sh not locating the client.so file. I have checked in my bin directory and it would appear that I am missing the file all together. My first step was to completely reinstall garrysmod but the client.so is still missing. The verification module in steam freezes each time I try to launch it. What am I doing wrong?
The verification shouldn't freeze. Does your Steam directory, including subdirectories, have the correct permissions?

Restarted steam. Fixed the issue where verification was freezing. I also followed a guide and put client.so links in the GarrysMod/bin folder but I've come to believe the library is inaccessible or nonexistant.
Make sure you launch the game from steam, not from hl2.sh.
Anyone know where I can find the client.so file? If its missing what package do I need to install?
