Gmod broken, 13 Beta works fine

I recently returned to Gmod after taking a long break and I found out that it crashes no matter what I do. It crashes when I attempt to join a server. The Gmod 13 Beta works fine, and even a clean installation of gmod won't fix this.
Any idea what causes this and what I can do to fix it?

Source update broke HTML awhile ago, everyone's just been using a temporary fix.

vgui_allowhtml 0 in your console.

You can put it on your command line as +vgui_allowhtml 0

or inside the Autoexec.cfg inside garrysmod/garrysmod/cfg, make a new file if its not there and add that line in.

vgui_allowhtml 0 in console. The problem is that a source engine update broke HTML panels in gmod. Garry probably won't be updating gmod due to his condition.
