If I open a door with sounds and noclip to the other side of a large map I can hear them close. I should be far enough away to not hear them but can.
Is there a way to make the sounds local?
I know there was an update to do with changing the way sounds work, you'd have to go into the lua file and change the code which makes the sound

So is it a bug, permanent or will they get around to making door sounds sensible eventually?
It should be fixed eventually
Thanks then. Guess I can stop worrying if my map is broken since all of ours are.
I still seem to have this issue. Isn't the sound played on doors part of Source (as these are things you define in Hammer, just like for CS:S maps too)?

If a fix is coming it probably hasn't been released yet.
Door sounds are assets found in Source games like everything else but from djjkxbox360 said, I assume they just changed how sounds are played through the GMOD version of Source.

Yeah, that's what I assumed, but since I read something about "You have to change the lua file to change the way the sound is produced", I wondered if I was wrong about it.
