A Multiplayer problem

So when I start up Garry's Mod, and go to the Multiplayer menu, nothing shows up, I get the tabs for LAN, Favorites, and History and the Legacy Browser and the shizzle,
but no servers show up. I'll go into the Steam directory for servers, and connect, and get "Connection Failed after 4 retries". I've verified my Garrysmod Cache , restarted my modem and my router, and
restarted my computer countless times, but it has all proved fruitless.

This only affects Gmod, and I'm clueless when it comes to problems of this kind.
