Up until today I noticed that my garrysmod file was still located in "Steamapps > Username > garrysmod" and not in the commons file, even though I received the update 1-2 days ago.
Yet, I can still launch Garry's Mod perfectly, all my custom content loaded perfectly. Although I can't access any of my HL2 episode content. How do I get the steampipe update to be applied to my Garry's Mod?
Drag your garrysmod folder out of the /username/ folder, delete local content in steam, then do a fresh reinstall. After that, you can manually drag back in your custom content.

Okay thanks, I'll try that.
Just out of curiosity, what if I didn't notice that the update didn't work correctly and just continued on playing normally. Would anything happen?
It's happening to everyone AFAIK.

Well your game would stay that way and not update to any of the new updates.

Not for me? Mine was at 13.06.07 before I reinstalled.
Talking to Hallos
Yeah, but mine was in the username folder until I reinstalled which was after 13.06.07.
