First off: I'm rather displeased with the 13 update so far. I'm a fanatic builder myself, and i've spent well over 1500 hours on building contraptions and enjoyed every minute of it. The gmod 13 update however turned gmod, in my opinion, in a ragdoll posing simulator. I understand that it was unavoidable for the update to break many addons, and i don't mind waiting a couple of days before i can get my addons and duplications back, but there are many little changes integrated in gmods core itself that make being a builder a less enjoyable experience. The thing that has been bothering me most is the absence of most textures for the material toolgun.
Now that that's off my chest, here's my actual question: Is there any way to get the old material list back? Gmod 12 had around 40ish vanilla materials, whereas 13 only has 20 or so. The ones that are currently in there are of little use to me. I know it's possible to use the +mat_texture_list combined with the material_override commands to set a specific texture as the current material on the tool gun, but it's such a hassle doing so, and even then: many materials that used to be in the normal spawnlist are nowhere to be found (for example the combine_bridge materials). Other materials don't even work at all.
Can someone tell me if it is possible to get the old list back or perhaps make a custom one, and if so: how to do it?
