How can I set up a fastdl url thing on my computer?

I have the server installed and crap, but how do I set up a fastdl thingy on it using my computer as the server? I am not going to pay to put files on some website, can I just put my IP as the url?

Option 1:
You will need to install wampserver or XAMPP to host a web-server on your PC then you need to follow [url]http://maurits.tv/data/garrysmod/wiki/wiki.garrysmod.com/index70e8.html[/url], but ignore the cache folder as its been removed.

Option 2 Find a free web host that has a decent bandwidth limit and follow [url]http://maurits.tv/data/garrysmod/wiki/wiki.garrysmod.com/index70e8.html[/url].

My recommendation is that you don't bother setting up fastdl on your PC as it will hardly improve download speeds. You need a server that has a fast connection.

My server uses someone's dedicated server for the fastdl.

I reccomend that you buy a server off a reseller/host such as nfoservers.com or [url]http://eportal.directspace.net/aff.php?aff=1045[/url]

Is that upload or download? Also, you probably mean mbps not MB/s..

I have 5mbps upload speed and I have my fastdl server running on my pc using IIS and the speed at which stuff is downloaded is not that bad.

Not megabits, megabytes. On average though I download at 9mbyte and upload at 3mbyte.
