GMOD & CSS freeze when multiplayer menu is clicked on

I can play singleplayer and do basically everything else, but it seems that a steam update broke my CSS and GMOD. If I click on the multiplayer thing, my game freezes. I tried redownloading. Any help?

Tried it, didn't work.
Edit: Never mind, I fixed it. It turns out the files were all different, steam must have changed them. I just deleted steam and reinstalled it and everything works
