When I click on a server, It freezes on the screen for a minute or two, then loads normally. Also happens when maps are switched, when disconnecting, and quitting. Please help! This is wasting my time.:suicide: :(
Nothing unusual. happens too everyone i think, atleast it does for me and always have for any game.
Happens to me too, it's just something that happens.
Me too:v:
Hope they fix it soon:eng101:
It is just minor inconvenience and notting to worry about really.
It is just minor inconvenience and notting to worry about really.
Again, It's a total waste of time
Its not really "Fixable" it happens to everyone. Even since gmod 12 and 11... Just deal with it, It's not that much of a waste of time. You can wait it out like the rest of us :)
It's not a waste of time.. it happens because its loading.. I think it freezes to saveup some CPU (AKA, Load faster)

Well, let's start with general debugging. How many addons do you have in Garry's Mod, (I myself have waay to many, time to get rid of them since I have your same issue). (Copied from my own post in another thread, same issue)
I have 514 addons, is that alot?
Too much, no wonder you lag.
I have 514 addons, is that alot?
Your picture fits so well with this.
are you shitting me, i have 689... never had a damn problem before steampipe, I love its intentions but right now its in need of medical coding attention. also maps are the main cause of the menu lag from what i found. especially when starting singleplayer. Im not sure about multiplayer though.
Can confirm this. I have over 1,000 maps, which slows down my game so much whenever I open the singeplayer menu.
I did, but I had no idea where your thread was about it.
So what can I do about this problem?:zoid:
Report the issue on the Rolling Updates thread.
Meh, nothing to worry about dude, it's normal
Meh, nothing to worry about dude, it's normal
Nope Freezing after every disconnect from servers, Freezing before be connected to the server, Freezing after downloading ANY ADDON from the workshop, Freezing after clicking 'quit' button, and much more... ...do you think it's normal?
EXACTLY. And as of right now, I'm defragging my computer and Garry's Mod. I'm also doing a clean-up of registry errors and some other things and see if that works. It may work, but I can not guarantee for I did not finish completing it yet, but give it a try if you feel the urge to. If that still doesn't work, its most likely the latest update Garry released, because that's when it started to occur for me. But I the most I can do is assume.

So maybe I'll try defragging, and maybe delete some addons. But I still hope this gets fixed in the next update.:downs:
I have no addons, albeit some custom content from my own gameservers and The Freeze tends to last around 5 seconds for me. Pretty sure it's inevitable. Just loading time.

Ithink the steampipe causes that :suicide:
It was happening before SteamPipe.
No this isn't normal. Before steampipe my game worked just fine now afterwords it freezes up everytime I click something and not to mention trying to start the damm game. I wanna disable all addons or one individual one? gotta wait 3 minutes. I wanna mount/unmount a game? Gotta wait a good while cause it freezes up. I wanna go into singleplayer or multiplayer? Freezes up for good. If I had a bunch of addons before steampipe and never had these problems then an update had to cause this to happen. Yeah whatever rate dumb I honestly don't care I'm just trying to fix this problem... I made 2 threads about this problem already...
So I'm not the only person having these issues. I'd also like to state this only happened after the Steam Pipe update. I literally played it like the day before the update and all was good and fine then after the update I played a week later and nothing but issues. I've hardly been able to play GMod at all as of late. Not to mention every time GMod updated I had to re-download all my addons because they caused it to behave weirdly and fire off LUA scripting errors. EDIT: DISCLAIMER: Just because some people were having this problem before the update doesn't mean I and others having it only after the update are full of shit.
