So garry's mod decided to break with no explained reason/warning signs, so here's what's happening. 1. Gmod starts up fine 2. Start a map, as usual 3. And when it finally loads... It looks like this. I can hear and control everything fine though I can blindly open the console and type "disconnect" to return to the main menu with no problem I validated my files, and uninstalled recently added addons. The last thing I want to do is delete everything and reinstall. My internet is too slow, My patience is too low, and my anger is too high to go through all that.
delete .blob
Go to C:\Program Files\Steam (or the Steam directory that was specified during installation). Locate ClientRegistry.blob and rename this file to ClientRegistryOld.blob. Restart Steam to allow the file to be recreated. Test the issue once more.

delete .blob
Didn't work, sorry
This happened to me a while ago. Boot up a singleplayer world. Press the ~ key. Now, even though you can't see anything, try and type pp_fb 0 in the console. This will only work in singleplayer. Also, I don't recommend messing with the frame blend tool. It seems to be what's causing this epidemic of darkness.
run in windows mode at dx 8 level.
