Gmod crashes when i try and pause the game or open the console in a multiplayer session

This problem just randomly started for me one day, i was in a friends private game and my volume was to low so i pressed esc to change it and then i crashed on pressing it. I also cant open the console cause it does the same thing. And if i get disconnected from a server and i wait for the timer to go down, as soon as it reaches 0 it crashes. I have no idea what to do about it, i have verified the cache, deleted a few addons i recently got and none of it has worked. If you know the solution please help.
