Ingame Voice sounds awful despite high quality mic

Hey guys,
maybe you can help me on this very annoying issue.
Basically whenever I use voice chat when on a gmod server or when I do the mic test in the ingame options my voice is very bad, it has stutter, its too loud and cuts off. However, whenever i test my voice in the Steam Settings it is crisp and clear as it should be, same goes for Counter Strike Go, skype, ts. I just seem to have this issue with games like Gmod or CSS.
Can anyone help me on that matter?

The voice codec used in these old source games are really bad, it's nothing to do with your microphone.

This might be the case but there are still other players whose voices are way more crisp than mine when ingame. This must be another issue, maybe gmod is somehow downscaling the quality of my mic input?
