I have played gmod forever, it was working perfectly fine until one day it decided to stop working. Everytime I tried to open it, it said " it can not find background01_widescreen01.vtf " I have reinstalled the game several times. I have revaildated every game in my stream library and almost everything. I tried getting a new background for my game. Nothing will work. Please help and thanks for your time.
How many hard drivers you have?
What harddrive gmod is on? What HDD Steam is on?
Are you using the "admin" account in windows?
Have you tried starting Steam as admin?
Have you tried starting gmod as admin?
I have 2 hard drives 1 ssd, and one hard drive. Gmod is on the hard drive, as well as steam, but before I got steam on my ssd, it then ran out of room so i switched steam to the hard drive as well as most of my games. I don't really know about the admin thing, and I have tried opening steam as an admin and it didn't work.
What do you mean it didn't work? Were you unable to launch Steam as admin or did it not fix the problem with GMod?
It didn't fix the problem with Gmod, but I figured it out it was the hard drive thing I downloaded it back to my ssd and it works now im playing it thanks for making me think of the problem.
