I'm the owner of a DarkRP server, we've been up for about a month and have a pretty good setup.
We've never legitimately peaked over 15 players, and we only have about 4 players that ever play, we have more active staff than players.
I say legitimately because we've been redirecting servers backdoored by leaked addons to our server, resulting in a ton of high ping bad players that are just minges and don't stick around, our idea was that it'd drive more people to our server with it appearing higher on the list. Our hostname is "[ *SERVERNAME* - Purge ] ✓ Anticheat | 150 Props | Semi-Serious ✓". We've got a good server that drives out good ping, so that's not a reason our server would rank low. We have a website, we have all that j

Probably becasue your server contains nothing unique and isn't too well known. DarkRP is literally flooded with servers making it nearly impossible for any new server to just spring up out of no where.

That's pretty crappy of you and speaks to your integrity as a community. If you have to resort to things like this it isn't too surprising that your server is failing. You most likely have a terrible management approach to the server.

Sounds like another shitty scriptfodder infested server. I suggest being creative and making something of your own, that demonstrates that you are like no other server. Because tbh I have seen way too many of these servers and it makes me cringe! Do something good for the community.

this is not only the cause however, it's mostly just pure luck to get in at the right time and players flooding

Sorry to bump thread, but what a fucking scumbag thing to do. Make some original content. It's fine and dandy creating a server - but making players actually want to play is hard. If you're going to copy-pasta a DarkRP server no one will want to join. Stay away from meddling with ulx ranks no one wants "donatorplusssilvervip" or "headmodpaidforgameslolmanager". Stay away from [I]leaked[/I] addons or premium scripts as these are as common as a cold.
Start learning some LUA it can be difficult but it's rewarding...
