This has been an issue for a while and its really frustrating, my gmod started crashing on one server then grew to more but my gmod only crashes on big servers like DarkRP Servers but I can join servers like TTT and Murder easily..
[B]I have tried clearing my game cache, deleting all my addons, reinstalling gmod and going into singleplayer first and I have been making threads on my websites without any luck.[/B]
I have a mac, here are my specs:
[B]Processor 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M 512 MB
Software OS X 10.9.4 (13E28)
Storage 1 TB Sata Disk[/B]

My specs easily beat the standard for almost any server on gmod so surely it cant be that...
I have researched ALOT online and have seen many people have this people on Windows aswell and not only people have been getting this issue lately but I found threads from years ago matching my problem, people have suggested writing this in console: [B]vgui_allowhtml 0[/B] sadly this doesnt work aswell.

This is not a spec problem, how much fps do you get on other servers that work? Have you tried closing other apps? Also do you have a windows computer that has this problem?
I know this is not a spec problem because my computer is close to that spec, a little more graphical
Correct me if I am wrong but a Geforce GT 640M with only 512 MB is not enough for Gmod I think. (for large servers, I really dont know, I just guess it)

Actually you're right! He's running at minimum which can't handle big servers I've got bigger RAM I think mine is 2 GB
To fix this close all unnessary programs like iTunes before starting or get more ram
Edit: nope the RAM For Mac is 1 GB I'm sorry dude but your Mac is lucky enough to play Garry's mod in the first place, if you can go buy windows 8 they can be quite cheap
