Server list barely shows or won't show servers

Hello so I haven't been able to play gmod for a long time now ever since I don't know. So when I first load garrys mod and go to the server list a few servers will load (image [T]http://b.jackzmc.me/1PgvNtb[/T]. Refreshing will sometimes only load even less then the ones shown above, or none.
If I load the steam servers list and filter it to gmod I see only 65 servers total. (image [T]http://puu.sh/pbKgY/7513dab1af.png[/T]).

I really want to be able to play servers. The legacy server list is hard to navigate per gamemode and it has the same issues.

By any chance do you rapidly press refresh servers shortly after you get onto the server list?
