• I'm getting a "You pirated the game" error

Well it's not really an error, but the game thinks it's a pirated copy. Refuses to run and throws up the classic problem. While tying to fix this, the game refuses to launch at all throwing up a D3D error.
Verify Gmod's files in Steam? You don't have anything like Steam family sharing active, do you? (Not that I know any specific bugs that do this, just ruling it out.)
Already verified and reinstalled. No family sharing is active.
Restart Steam.
Restart Steam.
My house did that for me, someone crashed into a powerbox. Still won't work.
Delete clientregistry.blob and restart steam
