Game freezes for 5 seconds after hitting the Mic button.

So I'm playing on a server with my friends and I hit the mic button, and I notice the game freezes.
Every time I hit my PTT button, the game will freeze for a period of time lasting about 5-6 seconds.
This is extremely annoying because every time I want to try and talk to my friends, it happens. I have 90 addons from steam workshop and I have never had this problem before.
List of my computer below.
Operating System: Windows 8.1 64-bit (6.3, Build 9600)
BIOS: BIOS Date: 05/08/12 14:39:13 Ver: 06.10
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3570k CPU @ 3.40 GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.4GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 11
I removed all the useless crap like my Computer Name, etc.
I have a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 with 4037 MB of Total Memory. And I have 2 monitors with 1920x1080 resolution.
I have no idea why this is happening, I use my second hard drive internal for most steam games except Garry's Mod and a few others.
But I had it on there and it was fine until today, no matter what drive its on it still does it.
Please help! This is a pain in the ass.

It's because of the microphone properties in your computer settings.

Right click on your volume thingy on the bottom right corner of your desktop < click recording devices < edit properties on the microphone you are using < click on the enhancements tab < disable all sound effects

That should do it.

there is no enhancements tab?
