• Can't join any GMOD server or singleplayer

I cant join any Gmod server including singleplayer, I'm on a windows 10 PC and ive tried to 'verify integrity of game cache' (many times),re-install Gmod and delete all addons. This has only been happening since I reset my PC to factory settings. Firstly, whenever I joined servers I could hear people and ingame sounds and I was stuck on 'sending client info' I could click on (what i could imagine to be) the MOTD on some servers and when I pressed ESC i could hear the sound that happens when you hover over things like 'options', 'quit' and so on. Secondly, after i verified cache there was a single file missing, it was around 980 bites, then when I launched up the server and tried to join the MOTD appeared but then it crashed and I got a message that had something to do with a Lua error, not enough memory. I then verified integrity of cache 3 times in a row and then launched the game, I could load into a singleplayer game, but that was about it. I've tried putting Gmod into compatibility mode (windows 8 and Windows xp service pack 3) I put this into my launch options to allow Gmod to use more RAM: -heapsize 4194304 but that still doesn't work. PLEASE HELP!!! Edit: My Steam is installed into my D: folder and most of my games are there, I also can't make an install path into my OS C: folder because it 'isn't writeable'
right click the garrysmod icon in steam then properties and select Beta tab and download the prelease version this should allow you to connect to servers faster "it does with me" then add
gmod_mcore_test 1 mat_queue_mode -1 cl_threaded_bone_setup 1
to the autoexec.cfg file in garrysmod/cfg folder again more game play improvements :) if its an addon thats stopping you from connecting unsubscribe from them in the workshop also clean out download and downloads folders in garrysmod if teres any thing in them :)
