Does demo smoother work in Garry's mod?

I've found a few video tutorials on how to use demo smoother in Garry's mod. I do exactly the same steps as in the videos. But no matter what, when I press "Save" the new _smooth.dem file never appears in the game folder.
Please help! How do I use demo smoother now? Does it work in recent Garry's mod versions?

Edit:

Just to clarify, everything goes fine up until the point where I should press "Save". "Spline origin" and "Spline angles" work exactly as shown in the video. But when I press "Save", the smoothed file does not appear.

Could anyone just tell - does demo smoother work or am I wasting my time? I would really appreciate any advice.

Ok, I spent whole day trying to figure this out! For any future googlers: DO NOT START DEMO WITH DEMOUI (SHIFT+F2). USE CONSOLE COMMAND "playdemo test.dem" TO OPEN DEMO, AND THEN PRESS SHIFT+F2!
Apparently this fixes bug with saving!
