I need some serious help, I cannot for the life of me join any servers on GMod

The title says it all really, for nearly a year I have had serious issues connecting to pretty much any server on GMod. When I join I get the classic red text connection issues reconnecting in blah blah blah in the top right of my screen. It is becoming a serious problem as I am only able to connect to a few servers.

Before you ask I have indeed done the following at least 100 times:

-Verified Game Cache
-Deleted GMod and reinstalled
-Checked it's not a hardware issue
-Added countless lines of shite to the launch settings that have been said to help
-Cried

so before you ask me to do any of those again please bare in mind that completing those tasks is becoming a sort of Chinese water torture for me where each completion of the task that leads to yet another failure drives me closer to the breaking point.

A few more fun facts that may help you solve the riddle of my depression, I have had no issue the last week connecting to SOME servers, often it seems that servers with a low player count are easier to connect to but I seriously do not think this is part of the problem as my internet is a good boy. The connection time outs are usually somewhere between 300 to 3000 seconds with the max being 5000 seconds, I'm not sure if this is important but I thought I would include it.

I am also able to connect to singleplayer with ease because (surprise, surprise) it does not require an internet connection. I am really hoping someone will be able to help me in my last moments before snuffing it and using the rope tool to hand myself from the ceiling.

Anti-virus or maybe firewall, tried deleting all your addons and even setting cl_timeout 90 in console.

Are you on wireless? If so, try wired.
