I've migrated threads (and users) from the old Rust forum and GMod Help and Support.
Posts have been imported as plain text, so the bbcode is showing at the moment
I plan to make a parser for this, so it'll format posts on the fly, clientside. I decide to do it this way around, instead of processing as part of the migration because this way if there's a fuckup, or a missed tag, I can change the parser code and it'll fix it everywhere without having to re-process the old threads.
You might find there's a duplicate version of your account here now, with your avatar from oldpunch.
Next week I'm going to add the facility to adopt these accounts. When you do that it'll change all these old posts and threads to be yours, and delete that ghost user. If you had gold member it'll give you some coins, and it'll give you some coins based on the number of posts/years of service from that account. You'll also gain the postcount and join date. You won't adopt the avatar, ratings won't come over.
Next Steps
After Migration and old post parsing is done, the plan is to move the GMod forums over completely. Starting with the least active ones. Before I do that I want to make sure that we've got everything they'll need. There's a lot of developer talk there so I want to make sure we have all the code parsing shit they need, and look into any improvements to sweeten the deal.
How many coins? Enough to get our 80x160 avatars back?
Awesome progress, can't wait to finally switch over. And that's cool about the formatting on the fly part, I was wondering how this was gonna play out with all the old posts and their bbcode shit.

It's actually not got my old avatar but I'm guessing that's because I made this account to preserve my name until the merge.

Possible Forum Bugs:
I've quickly noticed that Ctrl + Left Arrow will no longer bring your blinking text marker to the very end of your sentence, it will stop at the word prior to the last word.
For some reason copying certain sentences and pasting them results in them being broken up:

The links from the old forum to the new subforums direct you to the subdomain part of the forum, meaning you can't navigate from say the gmod help section to the general discussion subforum. It might be a good idea to just have it all on the same site.
BBCode Parsing
Work in progress, but the basics are done. One thing that might be a problem, which I haven't handled is quotes in quotes. I can't find any posts with quotes in quotes to test it.
Some of the BBCode hasn't parsed well in some threads, such as here https://forum.facepunch.com/f/gmodhelp/gvoi/Garry-s-Mod-Lua-Error-DarkRP/1/. I believe there should also be quotes inside quotes in this thread also.

With the way it sounds they'll likely just be able to give themselves coins, there was an award system mentioned at one stage and I totally don't put it past it getting abused.
