• ATI ruins Gmod?
    8 replies, posted
I installed a 4770 Radeon HD and now whenever I start Gmod, it takes 5 minutes for the menu to load, while it's "there". what I mean is you can see the guy, and the options, but no cursor, and you cant do anything. So I join a server, now my HUD disappears, like as if the refresh rate is 1 per 5 minutes, so the same image is on my screen, but the game is still running. Any fix other than reinstalling gmod?
The issue has nothing to do with your card, I would say. I'm running a 4650 with no problems.
PC Specs. We Can't tell what you have by your graphics card.
Sounds like you didn't install said graphics card correctly.
@Game Dev: I don't know specifics but here I go: Intel Black Edition 3-core CPU 4 GB Ram 250 GB Hitachi Harddrive Sound Blaster Live! Sound card ATI 4770 Radeon HD Note: My computer ran gmod perfect with my 9600, but I upgraded to keep up with BC2 to prevent over heats. @FlapJack: I did. Though I installed only the 'Main component" Should I have installed the advanced driver pack?
I had a 3600 ati and it ruined most of my games having an error message pop up after 5 minutes of play saying your graphics stopped responding. I updated the driver and everything and still didnt work! Most annoying thing so I switched back to my 7200 (i think) geforce.
Couldn't do any harm installing the proper drivers.
