I just recently got Garry's Mod, it's amazing, but I have one question. If I buy a PC game on a disc not on Steam can I still get it's content on Gmod, like Left 4 Dead and Counter Strike?

Yeah definitely. I bought HL2 and Episode 1 on CD, and they come with steam, so it's essentially the same thing. In fact I'd say CD/DVD is even smarter.

So your saying is that if I get a game it will add it's stuff to Gmod without me getting it on steam? I agree with you, getting the disc version is easier it dosen't take forever to download.
My bro got css on disc and he got all the content from css on his gmod so i surpose it will work ;)
Yeah, that's what I'm saying. When you put the CD in, it will load up steam, and steam will recognize the disk and install from there. IF you lose the disk, it will know that you own HL2 from your steam account, and you can then download it's content. Hence, once it knows you own it, its yours forever.

Wait, uh oh... so it dosen't download the game from the disk but off of steam, !@*%£!!! That's what I posted at the start about, the VERY slow download! That's why I wanted to buy the disk because I thought that it wouldn't download it off of steam. (it too me 2 days to download HL2 ep.2 off of steam!) Or is it quicker installing the disc than just buying it off of steam?
