Greeting facepunch, I have managed to get a e3-1270 with 16 gig of ram of which I actualy own the hardware so it isnt going to disapear overnight. I am in need of quite a few poeple to help me manage some of the servers as currently I only have one build server running and theres no way to populate the numbers of servers I can actualy host on the box - So, heres the deal - Im looking for 5 admins for the build server to help populate it and I would say about another 10+ admins for various others servers I decide to host, Im up for hosting anything people would like however they will not be given remote desktop, they will have to set up the server through teamviewer from my computer however I will do most of the cfgs and batch files, est est.
I know this sounds like a very lazy post but I am essencially giving away free servers to people who wont build up a bad reputation for the gaming commuinity i am trying to launch.
Atm only one build server and 2 css war servers are on the box, I am aiming to put a RP server up, and jailbreak server up and another 5 custom servers which will consist of anything the community would like, I am also working on my own mod which is nearing compleation which will be a metro 2033 RP linked across multiple servers. Dont PM me just post here why you should be given a server and then we can talk on steam. Thanks![/QUOTE]
Hate to break the news, but a heavy RP server will take 1 core. As will a few of the other gamemodes. TTT/CSS are fine to run 4 per core. Sandbox depends on what you run on it. For insane RP server power I'd turn HT off and have 1 e3-1270 core just for that. I've no idea how the hell the 64 slot RP servers don't like like a bitch tbh...
As awesome as the E3-1270 is (My favourite chip for gmod) Garrysmod can still only run on 1 core, and not setting affinity causes lag when they jump around. 16gb ram is a moot point but always nice to have.
lock please :)
