How do i get gmod 13, i really want to. I thought it was an update, if so, how do i get it.

It'll be an update to GMod 12 at some point in the future. You can get keys to the BETA [url=http://account.garrysmod.com/]here[/url] when Garry releases them. He usually tells on his Twitter profile once he gets keys from Valve.

Sorry, bud, but you need to get a BETA key. There are currently none left, but if you follow Garry on Twitter, he may link you to a site when some are made. He said sometime this weekend, probably. Better act fast, though, when they do come out.

the Beta key for Garry's Mod 13 is your virtual pass to register the game in your Steam library, you need to own the original Garry's Mod first however.
Every now and then Garry makes a post on Twitter saying he has released new Beta keys (You don't need to HAVE a twitter account to look at twitter posts) which you can then grab on the [url]http://account.garrysmod.com[/url] website if you have logged in via Steam and verified yourself, when you grab a key it will automatically register Garry's Mod 13 to your Steam Library and you can download it IF YOU OWN GARRY'S MOD IN THE FIRST PLACE ON STEAM

I think you missed my post. Anyhow, if you bought GMod on Steam (which you should have), then you'll have Garry's Mod 12 even though it's just called "Garry's Mod". It'll be a free update to GMod 12.

I wouldn't recommend you to take a beta key if you're new to the game altogether, you're not going to be too useful to the testing process.

I just Nabbed a Key, have gmod 13 =)
So, after my first 15 min time playing Gmod 13, it seemed a bit disappointing.
Pros - More NPCs from HL2 and Slightly better graphics, New tools.
Cons:
New Menu.
Lags a lot more.
Lots of Gmod 10 addons don't work with it, or miss out parts.
other stuff.
I will play some more and explore it more, but after my first 15 mins, i was dissapointed.

There is nothing really in it for you. The beta was not meant to be a 2nd Garrysmod where you piss around. This was for coders to get scripts working, find bugs, get new things into, etc. Unless you can do any of those, then there was no point in you getting it.
Did realise, just as a new game, more could have been done to it, but the new menu is still rubbish, i prefured the old one. Also, do you get Gmod 13 updates free, and do they just come from steam.
the old menu is horrible and I don't think it has changed its design much since GMod 9. I honestly don't think much has changed in the game in a very long time, it's nice to see a whole facelift. This menu is much nicer to look at, easier to change backgrounds, and much much MUCH more functional.
As others have said, there was no real point in you getting the beta, it's mostly for developers to get their projects working with the new version of the game.

They definately shouldn't have removed toybox. That was a great feature, anyone know why he did remove it.
