Your First Garry's Mod Memory - Garry's Mod

Now here's a question for you all; What was the very first thing you remember ever doing in Gmod right after you bought it, installed it and spawned into a map? Doesn't have to be your first action, can be a summary of your very first play session. I think the first thing I ever did was spawned a razortrain, put like twenty thrusters on it and shot it at a group of a bunch of Kleiners. I was disappointed with the results so I found dismemberment mod, and the second attempt was much more satisfying. It also crashed my game. :v:

With his right arm up with a middle finger.... Too bad some mingebag took it as an offencive gesture and threw an atom bomb at me...

i created a house out of wooden crates and blew it up with barrels crashed instantly

First thing I did was take a screenshot of the menu, Than I spawned into gm_contruction and I got the half marition achievement All I did was cry with happiness

Went on a dodgefight server.

I remember begging my thread so many times to put a thruster on a camera to see what happens. He didn't let me, so I bought the game some time after (as he showed me some of the stuff you can do). I was disappointed with the thruster camera thing, it just went around in circles. :smith:

I spawned a hunter, attached a rollermine to his back, and roped a pod to it All aboard the hunter express!

Nice thread :D Anyway, My first Garry's Mod memory was loading it up and thinking 'What, the fuck?' then I watched a tutorial and spawned a car and ran over 16 Kleiners with dismemberment mod... >:)

went skinny dipping with gman. Of course... No really I was working out how to add -dxlevel 80 to the command line for a week. :P

Back in the time (4-5 years now?) Smashing ragdolls around and laughing out loud

Balloons, winches, and thrusters. Enough said.

Put a balloon on a chair and went flying to space.

put a wheel on a box and made my first vehicle on gm_flatgrass. That was 5200 hours ago of gmod ingame playtime

Spawning a bunch of ragdolls in flatgrass under that big brown tower in the useful construction props list. Back then in like 2007 I didn't know you could use shift to rotate props/ragdolls so I kept throwing the at the ground trying to get them in the position I wanted.

Realizing Roblox Lua was really different.

Hl2.exe has stopped working.

had a pirated steam so that I could download valve hammer and make puzzle maps for Half-Life 2: Deathmatch. inadvertently downloaded garry's mod 10, checked it out and went on a "random" build server. learned wiremod in a day and built a replica of guitar hero. I don't have a video of it anymore but it was pretty awesome. I might get banned for talking about warez or whatever, but it's just the truth. I found out about garry's mod by pirating, and I don't regret it, it was more of a demo for me. I bought garrys mod and nothing has changed for me, just that its much easier to get updates.

Loaded gm_construct and attached wheels to the boat from Lost Coast

I spawned a gregori ragdoll, threw him into the gm_construct lake and 4 years later im still doing that kind of shit and laughing at it

Spawned a pillar and dropped it on myself.

My first memory that I can remember (and I've got shit memory) was a 4 cylinder engine I was working on. Thing was massive, and I remember using 1x1x1 PHX blocks the wrap halfway around a bar with rangers on them for the timing. Of course I must have been playing for some time before this, but I can't remember any of it :smith:

downloading GMOD9 after seeing the silly screenshots on every gaming website (they were watermarked with "gmod 9" back then) And building a car with huge wheels which annoyed everyone

Loaded gm_construct and spawned a Combine, Then, the combine kill me, and I left from game :pokerface: but later i searched about the addons, i downloaded 10 or 5, and then, I was many hours playing :P.

I went on a server, saw that someone had stood up some doors like a domino set... Well, lets just say I got banned :smile: Edit: Oh god, something else I just remembered: Using shortened words in-game. It's not terrible if you're in some action-packed moment, but overuse of "u, lol etc." really does make your sentences seem invalid.

I pressed Play Multiplayer and joined a server. I was very happy with my self because I got a free achievement, but I was confused as to why everybody was laughing at me :\ 400 hours later I'm still don't understand why people laugh when a 'noob' joins.
