How about such idea? Instead of converting models to source mdl format, why not make dll module which it convert and spawn in game and can use of different formats from simple obj,direct x, specific formats which use other games p.s gm_obj.dll gm_3ds.dll gm_x.dll and more
Perhaps the fact that both client and server would need them, and it could be too much to process.
Today processors can handle this and why client need it ? i think it's single player module for easy importing models in game
If the client didn't have it, they would crash due to not being able to decode the model.
It's silly. It has no definitions for vertices, no physics, nothing from the QC (model name, sequences), etc.
