I am tweaking my settings for better performance for movies. I was just wondering should HDR and Anti-aliasing be turned off? I have tweaked other stuff, I just know that AA and HDR can make it or break it, so I just want your opinion. Thanks!
For HDR it depends on the map, some have really nice effects and on other maps it just breaks or looks really shiney.
AA on the other hand put it as high was possible (until your pc starts lagging) it smooths the edges of everything so it doesn't look pixelated:

I leave HDR on. If I don't use HDR I turn that entire off, bloom looks terrible. AA I run just enough to remove the jaggies, but no more. No point in wasting horsepower on 16xAA if 4xAA makes the lines smooth to your eyes.[QUOTE=Sylerr;37898649]

Set it high enough to take care of the jaggies. Setting it higher than that serves no purpose. I only run 2x AA in most games...I can run 4x if need to but I generally don't have to, my monitor smooths things out enough where I simply don't need more than that.
Anti-aliasing theoretically is fake resolution, it helps you see smaller things in higher detail from a distance.

I don't see anything in the distance. I see less jaggies on that tilting skyscraper, none at all on the 8x image in fact, but I don't see a damn thing different in the distance. I'm also not fond of using screenshots to judge how much AA to apply. I can see jaggies in my own screenshots, but when I'm playing I don't see a single jaggy.

BTW, I know mipmapping can be set to lowest settings, because you definitely don't notice the floors right?
