Hi guys. I'm having trouble with my Gmod: after playing for some time, my computer suddenly resets. It's happening with other games also like "The Sims 2", "Prototype" and other GPU intensive games, and i'm REALLY getting frustrated. And also i miss playing Garry's Mod. These are my specs: Computer: Computer Type ACPI Multiprocessor PC Operating System Microsoft Windows XP Professional OS Service Pack Service Pack 2 Internet Explorer 7.0.5730.13 (IE 7.0) DirectX 4.09.00.0904 (DirectX 9.0c) Computer Name GABRIEL (PC do lux) User Name extra1 Logon Domain GABRIEL Date / Time 2009-08-16 / 22:42 Motherboard: CPU Type DualCore Intel Core 2 Duo E8400, 3000 MHz (9 x 333) Motherboard Name Asus P5K SE (2 PCI, 3 PCI-E x1, 1 PCI-E x16, 4 DDR2 DIMM, Audio, Gigabit LAN) Motherboard Chipset Intel Bearlake P35 System Memory 3328 MB (DDR2-800 DDR2 SDRAM) DIMM1: Kingston 9905316-152.A00LF 2 GB DDR2-800 DDR2 SDRAM (6-6-6-18 @ 400 MHz) (5-5-5-15 @ 333 MHz) (4-4-4-12 @ 266 MHz) DIMM3: Kingston 9905316-152.A00LF 2 GB DDR2-800 DDR2 SDRAM (6-6-6-18 @ 400 MHz) (5-5-5-15 @ 333 MHz) (4-4-4-12 @ 266 MHz) BIOS Type AMI (11/30/07) Communication Port Porta de comunicação (COM1) Display: Video Adapter NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GTS (256 MB) 3D Accelerator nVIDIA GeForce 8600 GTS Monitor Samsung SyncMaster 796MB (Plus) [17" CRT] (HXAY803939) Multimedia: Audio Adapter Realtek ALC883 @ Intel 82801IB ICH9 - High Definition Audio Controller Storage: IDE Controller Controlador de canal duplo padrão PCI IDE IDE Controller Intel(R) ICH9 2 port Serial ATA Storage Controller 1 - 2921 IDE Controller Intel(R) ICH9 2 port Serial ATA Storage Controller 2 - 2926 Storage Controller SCSI/RAID Host Controller Floppy Drive Unidade de disquete Disk Drive SAMSUNG HD161HJ (160 GB, 7200 RPM, SATA-II) Optical Drive DW1234B RYN837J SCSI CdRom Device Optical Drive DW1234B RYN837J SCSI CdRom Device Optical Drive DW1234B RYN837J SCSI CdRom Device Optical Drive DW1234B RYN837J SCSI CdRom Device Optical Drive HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4165B (DVD+R9:4x, DVD-R9:4x, DVD+RW:16x/8x, DVD-RW:16x/6x, DVD-RAM:5x, DVD-ROM:16x, CD:40x/32x/48x DVD+RW/DVD-RW/DVD-RAM) SMART Hard Disks Status OK Partitions: C: (NTFS) 152617 MB (8724 MB free) Total Size 152617 MB (8724 MB free) Input: Keyboard Dispositivo de teclado HID Keyboard Teclado padrão com 101/102 teclas ou Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard Mouse Mouse compatível com HID Network: Primary IP Address 192.168.2.2 Primary MAC Address 00-08-54-A3-EF-FC Network Adapter Attansic L1 Gigabit Ethernet 10/100/1000Base-T Controller Network Adapter Realtek RTL8139 Family PCI Fast Ethernet NIC (192.168.2.2) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Temperatures: Motherboard 34 °C (93 °F) CPU 34 °C (93 °F) CPU #1 / Core #1 43 °C (109 °F) CPU #1 / Core #2 43 °C (109 °F) GPU 56 °C (133 °F) SAMSUNG HD161HJ 33 °C (91 °F) Cooling Fans: CPU 2206 RPM Voltage Values: CPU Core 1.19 V +3.3 V 3.28 V +5 V 5.14 V +12 V 12.04 V +5 V Standby 4.95 V ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thank you very much. Your GPU might be overheating, make sure the inside of your computer is free of dust and your computer has proper air flow.
i'll tryh that. But i've been monitoring my GPU temp and it crashes with just 80~90 degrees Celcius
That's kinda hot.
really? Hum.... any ideas how the lower that temperature? i've already opened the computer case so it could have a better air flow
My PC is full of holes, so it doesn't burn and explodes to death, killing me along an all the world, causing the RAM to die in little pieces...
My PC is full of holes, so it doesn't burn and explodes to death, killing me along an all the world, causing the RAM to die in little pieces... wel....do you have any problem with sudden reset crashes and stuff?
Yeah your problem is the GPU overheating. I know because i had this problem before. My pc was bought with it though so i called customer support and they sent me a new one with a bigger fan and heatsink. Fixed it perfectly.
