Gmod 13 shuts down my pc every 5-10 minutes of playing

This is the first time that this has happened. I have been able to play Gmod 13 for hours on end without my computer heating up fast. But now whenever I play, I can only play for 5 to 10 minutes without my computer shutting down due to overheating. I have used the latest DirectX version, enabled vertical sync, turned off anti alas, and antiscop filtering. I could use some help, I havent been able to play gmod for a long time now. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

When I play gmod, my PC doesn't turn off but sometimes the fan of my graphic card (HD4870) goes to 100% for few seconds because it's overheating, up to 80°C when fan speed is normally fixed to 35%, at ~50-55°C. No FPS drops or GPU crashes, just the fan screaming madly to save my GPU from melting...

Most of the time it's happening when the flashlight is on, or there are some lighting effects, at specific places in for example gm_construct.

Only happening in gmod (since a long time, not only in gmod13), and my PC is very clean.

Get a cooling pad. I have one because the center of my laptop gets screaming hot. The fan is on the left, yet all the stuff is in the center? Good game, Toshiba.

Something like this is what you need. Maybe get one with multiple fans.
