i need help, my backspace and tilde key aren't working. anyone know what the problem could be?

Okay I got my backspace key working, not sure how, but the console key still isn't working.
Did you enable it in the settings?
Depending on your keyboard, the console bind is just totally messed up. Try binding the console to something else than tilde, like F11, a usually unused key. If you cant get your console to open to bind it, goto your \steamapps\username\garrysmod\garrysmod\cfg folder and open the config.cfg and add the line <bind "F11" "toggleconsole"> without the >< brackets. that should do it
