Im making a map, and Im using custom dev textures. The problem is that my Textures show up as pink and black textures ingame, and in hammer editor.
I have the vtf files and the vmt files in a folder called "dev2"
I have put the dev2 folder in these directories.
"garrysmod\garrysmod\materials"
"half-life 2\hl2\materials"
"half-life 2 episode two\hl2\materials"
"sourcesdk_content\hl2\materialsrc"
I can get custom textures working in team fortress two, but not in garrysmod.
is there anything Im doing wrong?
Maybe if you pack the map + the materials as an addon you might be able to see the materials in-game, with hammer I can not help.
I have this same problem.. With hammer, that is.

no, because the in game textures not working is because of hammer not knowing what textures it is.
Ive gotten custom textures to work in garrysmod and hammer, but when I put textures in the directories the ones Ive gotten to work are, it still shows up as a missing texture.
