Ah.. Rp... The most realistic gamemode on Garry's Mod right? It's okay on some servers... Ya know, has good admins, good players that like to RP and maybe some nice mods (for other servers.)
Just looking at the major servers (40-60 slots) there are; Vent Mob, Pulsar effect, Gmod Biz, Racklejaxx, Darkland Rp server, Taco, Super Omfg whatever... And... 24/7 Serious City Rp. Now, I have not been to ALL of them but most of them are good servers nice admins ect.
So whats your basic idea of life? Do you wake up in the morning to gunshots and Objects floating in the air and everyone just dming? On Serious thats basically how it goes.
There is SO much DM everyone in there I guess noone can afford CSS or Hl2:DM. I think they suck so bad at games that they just HAVE to buy a gun and start killing EVERYONE so they can satisfy how much they suck at shooters. Stupid idiots. But thats the MAJORITY! There are a few good people in that server
Don't you HATE it when a little kid is whining because he lost to something or he wants something? Thats how Serious City goes...I swear to god, there are like 9 year olds playing that game. If you become a cop and you finally stop them they go: OMG YOU BROKE NLR EVEN THOUGH I WAS WANTED AND YOU CAN GET ME! IM GONNA DENY EVERYTHING BECAUSE I DONT LIKE TO LOSE! Ok thats not what they say but it sums it up alot. Also, when people aren't demoting the cop, they are getting random arrested and then get killed in jail. What Bull****.
Lets talk about the admins shall we? So anyways you know the good admins who kick the propsurfers and handle the RDM? That is EXACTLY what Serious Rp DOES NOT DO! So a admin joins the game. Everyone is worshipping him like he's a f***ing god and then this happens: A guy PROP SURFS right up to the roof you have to prop stack to get up to and rats me out. So I run up there to secure the stuff I bought and the admin ACTAULLY says " Well this is propblock..." Are you f***ing kidding me? A guy JUST prop surfed up here and you're doing NOTHING? And then he says " You have 5 seconds to delete this stuff before I do.." Me: " Could I just have 1 minute to secure my stuff? I am super sorry for this!" so ofcourse like a admin douche he starts to delete my stuff and the PROP SURFER steals everything I had and makes out like a golden thief. Pfft Admin d***head.
That is basically all.. Why you shouldn't gotot that s*** server ever! There are WAY better servers out there. Thank you for your time and I look forward on to reading others opnions.
This is pretty much what every rp server is like, Unlike the small clan based ones which try to uphold a good community, A roleplay server/community with bad admins fuck everything up inevitabely. It's not like im very suprised.
Oh I don't know. I have been to a few good servers. But I just think Serious is the worst of the bunch. You have few choices of any jobs (but thats just the Dark Rp gamemode) and you have a whole bunch of pouters. If there was a list Serious would be on that list either 1st 2nd or 3rd.

Remove all classes, [/b] except Cops, and Citizen
Script it so [b]you cannot buy guns for yourself,[/b] and they cost a fair bit of money.
Give [b]toolgun to people who register on the forums[/b], as well as right to several other things.
[b]Make cars free [/b]: No grinding for your lotus
[b]Remove prop protection [/b]: If there are very few minges, this is fine. It keeps the mess to a minimum, and it allows people selling popcans as soda, to keep the streets clean, unless you want to RP garbage cleanup.
[b]Have a community [/b]: Have an established mayor, and person who runs the police force, and "certified police officers". This makes the community strong.
[b] Have the head admin hand-pick the admins [/b], and make them good too, people who follow rules.
Those all sound like it would make a good RP. Except for Number 1 and 2. If you cannot buy guns for yourself who sells them? Citizens? You got to have a gundealer in there. Maybe 2 for competition and there ya go. Removing prop protection? Just like communisim, Good idea, didn't work out so good... Another good idea is if you got demoted as a cop or a gangster you could script it so that you could still have your weapons. Lets face it if you get demoted when you still alive would you still have your weapons? I think so.
actualyl you wouldnt as a cop, they'd make you tuen in your gun before you leave

Being a gundealer is illegal and you should be arrested when seen selling guns... It's a gun dealer... not a gun shop owner -.-

Actually, only Taco 'n' Banana, PE, and Darkland are real "major" servers. The rest are just shitty servers that use the RealFake Players mod to make it [i]seem[/i] like the servers are popular when they're not.

Not even that. Make it so that selling weapons is NOT handled by a player and give the role to a NPC instead.

Lol actually funnily enough i own racklejaxx and we dont use fake client, our server is constantly busy...
And yer the darkRP community is a problem, hard to maintain , the only thing you can really do is have fulltime admin, which is a problem because everyone has something to do.
The moment you start taking stuff away people dont play, you need a fine balance between everything.
The thing is, mostly little kids play there. If they don't get it their way its demote time.
Thats how nearly ALL rp servers are, take it up with the admins, unless the admins are also 9 in which case just leave.

Like i said before, its up to the admin team to sort it out, i think the whole demotion process is lame, we are looking into taking it off, and if people have a problem...take it to the admin to demote, first we gotta figure out how to take it off.

I was playing HL2: Deathmatch one time, I went into a server. There's nothing but 10 year old kid voices.
Modern day kids are becoming to smart to know how to use a computer.
And with the current Gman virus, I'm not going into another server except mine,
I can understand a 10 - 13 year old kids knowing how to use a computer but 6 year olds? Like, its not even funny how a 6 year kid plays a game and annoys everyone else... Not even cute. You can't say in your server " No 6 year olds allowed in this server." Cuz' they still join anyway!

Guns should be eliminated, how many times do you actually see one used regularly?
Pepper spray and Stun gun should be the closest thing to a weapon, citizens should never have their hands on them.

#2 Some small rp comunnities do stand up a bit (like mine) but then again, since we use DarkRP, we are currently looking for an alternative.
#3 I don't see GmodRP there, Its a pretty amazing mod.
