Who here hates the big red ERROR whenever you don't have a model? And who here also hates the checkerboard? I do. So I made up an idea to remove them. For the error, I was thinking someone could make a script to get rid of those big red ERRORs (not the stuff in the top right hand corner that everyone posted at garrysmod.org). And for the checkerboard, couldn't we replace that with the closest looking texture of the missing texture? This will really help for those people who don't have ep1, ep2, or tf2 (I only have ep1 not ep2 and tf2).
How do you check which texture looks closest?
yeah lets jst remove errors no need 2 get the model that ur missing lets just rmoeve them :downs:
As for the giant error models, I'd rather know there's something there (just that I don't have the model) rather than have it appear nonexistant to me.
As for the checkerboard, you don't have the texture, so how can you check what's similar? And it sounds like it would tax the computer to search through every other texture to find one with similar colours.
The missing model/texture features aren't pretty but they're not supposed to be. They're supposed to yell at you that you've got missing content.
If the errors would be gone and someone spawned a big prop you don't have you would turn into a mime.
It be pretty fucking confusing without the errors.
