When my gmod has finished loading the main screen, it stops working. How can i fix this?
How exactly does it "stop working"?
It stands: "Half-life 2 does not work, press OK to stop the program" Or something.
HL2.exe has stopped responding. ?
1. Reinstall Gmod.
2 . Update RAM

Post your system specs please. Also, ensure you have Half-Life 2, Counterstrike Source, Portal, or Team Fortress 2 before trying to play.

Hmm. Gmod will run with those specs, but a little slowly - we need more information though.
1. What version of windows are you using?
2. What is your graphics card model? (To find this out, type "dxdiag" without the "-s and hit enter in the start menu or Run box, then copy the information to here)
3. What is the manufacturer of your processor?
Has it worked before? If no, be aware that you need to have played CS:S (In your case) to play gmod. (I think) Also if it has worked, remove addons.

34 bit does not exist. I assume you're referring to 32 bit.

Like I said before, type "dxdiag" into the bar at the bottom of the Start menu. This will tell you what your processor's manufacturer is, and also on the "Display" tab will let you see which graphics card you have.
Ok, thank you. I have another computer too, so I can play gmod. I will try again later with my other pc (I am using the one with the working GMod now)

Just go rightclick on the shortcut and then something like "Special settings" (I have the dutch version so i don't really know how it is called) It should say above a bar where you must type -dxlevel 80 that it is only meant for advanced players. Now it should work. It works with me though
