Garrysmod is freezing at the screen where the citizen is holding the tool-gun and phys-gun with his back to the camera. It just says "loading" in the bottom right corner. Ive waited about 10 minutes and there is no progress. I have NO addons and this is a completely clean installation of GMod. I have had it run smoothly on my PC before, but here are my specs anyways,(Im not a computer person, so if you have a question, ask):
Processor:AMD7750DualCore,2.7GHz
Video Card:Dual Radeon 3300 HDs
1700MB RAM
67 GB Free Space
Huh. I don't see what's wrong with it...

Try -dxlevel 80 in set launch options
Is there a way to check for updates? It doesnt look like the updated GMod Ive seen screenshots of.
Im having the same issue only it doesnt freeze it shows the loading screen and then the program closes with no error message or anything.
I've tried changing the start up properties to
-dxlevel 70
and
dxlevel 80
I dont know whats wrong i dont want this to be a waste of my money.
I've even reinstalled and re-verified my cache
Do you have any addons installed? Is your video card updated and installed properly? I really would like to get this fixed, as It was running smoothly a few weeks ago. Im working on it, I'll get back to you Yangas.
exactly the same thing. man wit' a gun and forever loading.
I looked in a process manager, and hl2.exe loads untill circa 80mb of RAM and then just nothing.
It's so cool to buy a game in a hour ago, download it... and it's just don't work. lmfao :DDDDD it's a bit too funny for me and my money.
oh yeah, it's awesome. It can be runned with steam in-game overlay turned off. Feeling disconnected from the whole world. How the hell I would know what time is it now? :D
go to steam games tab,
find garrys mod,
right click it and go to properties,
then hit set launch options and copy paste this in there
-dxlevel 80 mat_dxlevel 95 -window -h 864 -w 1152
if that doesnt work then i dont know. good luck.

Lol is brodieWF back with another account? Stop posting random launch options with typos in every thread.
Well I got mine to work. I just reinstalled and left it alone for about 45 minutes and it loaded for me. Maybe it was a problem with steam or something.
