Thought I’d tell Y’all about my new site. (not sure where I should post this so I posted here just move if wrong.) I am a bit of an entrepreneur, and I came up with this idea the other day, so I was wondering if it’d float with you guys. I basically thought to myself “how come there are no clans, for clans?”. I know It sounds like a bit of a stupid question, but think about all the problems that newer clans have. Novice leaders, inexperienced super admins, all that stuff. Now think about how easily that could all be solved with the simple help of older and more secure clans. It was at this point where I was losing confidence in the idea, until I thought of a second “backfire” use for it, because if you have many clans in the same forum, it basically becomes a recruiting ground, so why not encourage that? So I made sections for recruiting!
So, if you own, or are part of a clan, and you want to give, or receive advice, or even just get some more members! Drop by, that goes to all the people who want some friendly clans as well, so far we have had a good few friendly, and competitive clans drop by, but we are looking for even more variety, in the clans that use us, and the players as well! So drop by, it doesn’t cost you anything, you’ll meet some people, and maybe even join a clan or two!

Site looks cool but this probably won't work and it will die off in a few months
The reason why clans don't work in Garry's Mod is because Gmod lacks the 'teamwork' aspect. Most (notice I say most) gamemodes don't have teamwork aspect, so clans pretty much don't make sense in a building instance.
