What Gamemode should be used? - Garry's Mod

Me and my Friend are planning to make a Server for GMod, He wants DarkRP... i've Been reading about DarkRP Some say its sucks...blah blah blah, "[U][B]DarkRP is filled with 2 year old children[/B][/U]" etc etc etc....and etc... so What Gamemode should we Use? Also i've Played DarkRP but i never really read about it,but i have noticed alot of RDM, and NLR, i've Been Thinking about TTT but idk...

If you think you can just start up an DarkRP server and it will be good you are wrong. I thought the same thing and pretty much hit a brick wall. Unless you have money to sink into your server to make it how you want it then I would do TTT. That gamemode is easier to handle and fun to play.

As above, TTT is the way to go however if you're really leaning towards RP for your server take a look at some of the RP gamemodes that have been made recently in the gamemodes section. There are a few others you could take a look at in there too.

Well, if you HEAVILY edit darkrp then it will be good. A lot of things are bad about darkrp but I honestly think its the best rp to start off with as a base then edit it to make it better.

A gamemode doesn't make or break a server, its staff does.

The biggest questions are: Are you hosting it from your home computer or are you going to rent one? Cause' if it's only going to be hosted by you, you should probably just do one of the ones that hardly anyone has. Bring in a fanbase for that gamemode :)

TTT will be far easier for you to work with, and I highly recommend it. Dark RP takes a long time to perfect, and you'll need to take a lot of time into customizing and re-coding a lot of old or new elements either in or out of the gamemode.

Make a good build server :D For serious bro, do what you want, not what everyone else wants. I have a build server as part of a server group of serious vehicle builders. Do what appeals to you.
