I just got 10, I have been using gmod 9 all this time (yea i know... finally right?) but what folders do i put my old custom things from gmod 9 in, to use with gmod 10? Thanks.
You can't use addons and things from gmod 9 in gmod 10.

I mean how do I do it though?! I download things from garrysmod.org but they don't tell me how to use them.

So i just plop all the model and texture files into the garrysmod folder?
No, if they are model files, they usually go in garrysmod/models, if they're texture files, they usually go into garrysmod/materials.
The models folder is not there, so should I just make it myself?
Make sure you're in the garrysmod/garrysmod folder. A good way to check is too see how many folders there are. If there's about 3 in there, and one is named "bin" you're in the garrysmod folder instead of the garrysmod/garrysmod folder.

This is right, right? And i also created the models, and maps folders which were not there..
Yes, now that I think about it, I remember that some folders aren't there by default. Go ahead and create those folders.

Don't gamemodes have an info.txt?
Some do, depends on how the author packaged them.
Follow the readme. If there is one.
Files usually don't come with readmes.

Ok. If you download something. You unzip it and then go inside. If you find the LUA, model, etc files, then copy&paste into your garrysmod/garrysmod directory. BUT if you have a file called info.txt inside, then you put it into addons.
