Steam has found a problem with your local game file. Game files will now be re-acquired from the Steam servers. I've had this problem for TWO DAYS... TWO DAYS WITHOUT GARRY'S MOD! I'm not sure what to do. I've heard people have deleted the steamclient.blob file, but will this effect the games or mods I have installed in any way? I don't delete files unless I'm sure what they do. Sorry for being so annoying and paranoid. I just am paranoid. I have 140 mods installed... I downloaded them before Gmod.org became torrent-based, so I can't reinstall them without... it. Any ideas on what I should do? Please? Anyone?
Delete clientregistry.blob. It will redownload it and you will be fine. Also what's wrong with torrents?
Delete clientregistry.blob. Also what's wrong with torrents?
Try validating your Gmod files if that doesn't work. Torrents are faster and more reliable.
I just don't trust torrents. I know, they're faster, they're better yatta yatta yatta, but I just don't trust them. I really just don't like having to download programs to download other things that I want. I think Garry should switch back to the original system. And on topic, if I delete clientregistry.blob, what will happen to my mods? I have 140 mods or so...

Trust them, there's no reason not to. clientregistry.blob won't do anything, just delete it and it will redownload it. It doesn't affect the games afaik.

Also, I may think of getting BitTorrent... maybe... At least I'm not one of those idiots that thinks all torrents are illegal... [editline]07:01PM[/editline] Still have that problem. Deleted clientregistry.blob Another thing, one of my other games, Spore (not on Steam), had an error saying something about one of my saves, and that it would use an older one. It worked fine, but I still really want some help. Also tried renaming garrysmod, didn't work. HELP ME! And ALSO: Whenever I try to open Steam, my computer lags to death.
Oh please! SOMEBODY help me! Bump!!!
I know what to do. Rename your steamapps folder to steamapps_old. That should let you download. IF it doesn't, send a support ticket.
Why don't you just back up your mods before reinstalling?
Why don't you just back up your mods before reinstalling?
I'll do that. Ok. Right, I just renamed Steamapps, now I have to wait a few days for all my files to download... :(
