Hi! Recently I've been building some maps for a possible Antlion Survival gamemode. These maps are small and are balanced for 2-4 players. They all have sever spawnpoints for regular antlions, and they have 1 spawnpoint that spawns an antlion guard every 2 minutes. They also have a spawnpoint for a citizen with an SMG who will spawn to help you every 5 minutes. These maps also have a healing point, that gives you 1 health every second. It sounds cheap, but it works well. Maps so far are:
-als_starshiptroopers
Based off the movie "Starship Troopers". Features a crashed spaceship that you spawn inside of, and rocky Klendathu-like terrain.
-als_outpost
This one is a cool concept, but it kind of sucks. Might consider remake or deletion. It's basically an oil refinery with rain and fog effects.
-als_gasstation
Used some photo reference to make a deserted gas station. There's a ladder to the roof and an ammo crate for the AR2 outside.
I plan to add more. Ideas! I need em you got em!

Because there's more to Antlion Survival than just maps. I have a friend making a basic gamemode for it. You spawn with all weapons except toolgun and fizzgun, and you can't use the Q menu.
Now I also need a server to host this on when it all gets put together.

You would not need PHX, Wiremod, or any other addons on the server. Since the gamemode relies around killing, minges won't mess with other players. (FF disabled) Also the maps have ludicrously tiny file sizes. The biggest is als_starshiptroopers, with a size of 849 KB! The server would take very little space on your computer, if you're running it from there.

Really, I'd imagine this to be pretty simple. Call it "Antlion Survival". You spawn with all weapons, except fizz and tool gun. No points or money system. Also make it so maps switch every 30 minutes. If you're really dedicated, make a map vote system. (maps are identified by the tag "als")

I'd rather not have it fretta. But if it comes to that....ok....
Oh and by the way, I just finished my 5th map! So I'll be releasing these in a map pack and hopefully with a video!

I got an idea for a map!
Small military impacement consisting of a few military structures (basicly baracks) 2 or 4 watch towers (half on each side!) and MANY antlions on that map (but with a fair distance from spawn point). Also something like artilery or other support powers (maybe having one commander/supporter unit that can call in air strickes.).

If so, it would be a good idea to have an option to put some fitting music on! (using a vote so most people don't complain!). And before you flame me, look back on the part of episode 2 where you have to fend off antlions and think of how the music gets ya pumped! (There has actualy been a guy who made a video comparing the stage with and without music... you can guess the results! :P)

It's a nice idea for a gamemode, I wish you good luck. :wink: Just polish that map up a little and you should be fine.
