Simple gamemode, lets post suggestions/get some testers...etc
A gamemode where the brutal goal is to reach the top of a steep hill and press a button to win the round, gigantic props like trains and stoves will be tumbling down the hill as you dodge them and crouch under flipping objects. If you win a round you spawn with a crowbar and 3 hl2 grenades to take out opponents on the challenge.
Website: http://exiledservers.net Connect to server: steam://connect/69.162.65.140:27020 For manual connection:
IP: 69.162.65.140 PORT: 27020
Fun gameplay video:[hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7ltKCLo0uc[/hd] Credz:
Sadistic Slayer (Slayer3032) - Almost all of it Me - Progress calculation/Lua consultation/dealing with sad's obsession to use netnote... O.M.G ! Must try now.
It's pretty damn addictive, not really release worthy but pretty fun. I don't really care about the HUD and TargetID stuff, it was taken from some Deathrun gamemode on Garrysmod.org, it works well enough for this though. [editline]lol[/editline] Ignore the lua errors in the video, that's just from it being recorded in a Demo.
I played it, its fun.

Fantastic!
Fun.
More of a fretta game if you ask me, it got boring after 10 minutes.
-snip- Nevermind :D It's a pretty fun gamemode.
More of a fretta game if you ask me, it got boring after 10 minutes.
I agree
More of a fretta game if you ask me, it got boring after 10 minutes.
10 minutes, that's already better than most Fretta gamemodes.
Make an actual map with only one side of a mountain since only one is needed and make it drop rocks and boulders and such. [editline]05:05AM[/editline] Maybe build off by adding another objective like team death match or even capture the flag. The map shouldn't be as hard though.
Is the dropping of props done with Lua or in Hammer, since both are possible.
Is the dropping of props done with Lua or in Hammer, since both are possible.
Lua
Nice one!
-snip-
What does that mean?
What does that mean?
That means he "deleted" his post. Since you cant actually delete posts on Facepunch, the members made up with this
Yea this is definitely a fretta gamemode. Cos I wouldn't join a serve and play with for hours like I do with proper gamemodes.
Yea this is definitely a fretta gamemode. God I love the stupidity that surrounds people like you, it's so obvious and so rewarding, cuz now I know your opinion is nil.
Just played it. It's ridiculously addictive and I am probably going to make a map for it soon.
Just played it. It seems kind of easy because props just slide down the hill and usually leave big open areas at the top where people can run in and hit the button. It would be more challenging if the hill had bumps and fixed obstacles that made the falling debris bounce into the air and gave some cover along the way up the hill.
I played on it for about 15 minutes with friends, it's fun, but admittedly it gets boring.

http://x1l3d.dabananabunch.com/files/gmod/av_beta7.vmf Basically, the av_spawner ents are where the props spawn, the gamemode picks one of the positions of them at random every 0.47 seconds and spawns a prop. The av_button needs to be placed inside the wall like in the example map and it also needs to have the angles set to 90,90,0 so the button doesn't spawn wrong. The av_prop_remover brushes remove any av_prop entities that touch them. Most of all, the av_spawn_area brush is used as a afk killer or people who are amazingly slow at getting up the hill, it should cover the entire spawn area up into the hill area where you are placed into danger. More maps would really be nice, also the round counter is just a place holder until we get more than one map. :v:
Looks good, and like Slayer said ... More maps would make it fantastic.
I have a map being made for this gamemode :>

That guy didn't actually think of the idea, he saw Stealth's on our server and liked it. (or so Avast or what's his name told me)

If you want more maps to be released in a quick fashion, you need to release the game mode, even if it's in a beta state so that people can get working on stuff without encountering delays.
This was a hell of a lot of fun. Also I'd be willing to map a map for this too, however, what GiGaBiTe said is true.

Just look at the vmf. All you have to do to test your map is playtest it yourself on single players with prop spawners where you put the av_prop_spawner at in your map, it's not hard.
