Spacebuild with Joystick? I'd like to learn how.

I'd like someone to teach me (not just hand me the code) how to program an Expression 2 chip to enable joystick control for spacebuild.

If anyone wonders why I don't just want the code, it's because I feel it's dishonorable to be lazy and just copy someone else's work. I also would like to learn how to write Expression 2 code so that I won't have to ask for any more tutorials later on.

Please note that I will treat (and report) copy and paste tutorials as spam, as they are essentially a more general way of handing out code snipits. I'm a hands-on learner and can't learn through mindless Ctrl+Vs. I'd like to know what each part of the code does and how it all works (or doesn't), not just that it does.
