I wanted to download some tools and objects for Garry's Mod and i went to [url]www.garrysmod.org[/url] and found some but i the realsied i had no idea how to downlaod. Could someone please give an exact description of what you have to do; including: 1) whether you open or save 2) where you save 3) if you save to different places for different things, e.g. tools/props 4) if you need to activate or anything. I probably sound like an idiot asking these questions but i am thankful for all help given.
Also i dont think i have the 'adv_duplicator' file wich i have read may be needed
I have already tried a few times with this file "http://www.garrysmod.org/downloads/?a=view&id=73420" which is "HUGE bomb PACK.zip" I put the addons thing into addons but for the adv_duplicator i dont have that folder where do i put it

* if it hasnt, and its a map, it goes in maps.

if its a game mode, it goes in game mode.
anything else out of this format is probebly rubbish and not worth downloading.
but what about like a weapon or the bomb pack above cause that has two files one with the info.txt and one without it So do they just both go in the addons part
Yes, both into addons. You put the folder 'containing' the info.txt into addons.
do you mean the biggest folder containing everything into addons if it has info.txt
Open one of the addons. If it has stuff like 'models, materials, sounds, scripts, info.txt' then that entire folder INCLUDING the stuff inside of it goes into your addons folder.
