I just wanted towar you all not to download this L4D model pack. It freezes your computer while playing gmod, meaning that you have to turn it off by cutting the power to it, which damages your computer. http://www.garrysmod.org/downloads/?a=view&id=56957
are u sure its not just that ur comp is crap on the inside. Like for me, I cant even play L4D cos I dont have enough RAM. U might have the same problem. Be sure to meet the system requirements. Just cos they were ported to Gmod, does not mean that its graphical settings change.
But I downloaded a different model pack after and gmod doesnt crash now.
Newsflash: Because it doesnt work for you, doesnt mean its a virus.
ive downloaded it about 3 different times and it works fine

Had a similar problem with that file. GMod doesn't freeze up, but everything goes slow-mo. Impossible to work with. And I run Left 4 Dead on almost max graphics.
i have a feeling its just people with POS computers. not that the files are malicious. note that Gmod may run source but can easily demand as much horsepower as processing NASA data can require, from all the data that's available. Gmod requires, for a decent smooth gameplay: a dual core 2.0ghz processor 1gig of RAM - not cheap shit RAM, decent RAM with good performance infinite HDD space Nvidia Geforce 7600+ or ATI equivelant there are many other factors that could be causing problems, but those would be the minimum requirements for Gmod, in order to not lag constantly. i would reccommend much, much higher than that. i would reccommend: quad core 4gigs of RAM atleast 100gigs devoted to just Gmod a gfx card atleast in the Nvidia Geforce 9600+ but ideally a GTX series gfx card. granted, many people cant afford that. if you arent up to par with Gmod, just try not to spawn lots of props and have them collide or be shunting each other, collisions are the bane of source. hopefully this helps. there are melicous files on gmod.org, but seeing as everyone hasnt complained of terrible performance from this pack, it seems that its not malicious. its most likely that the computers its being run on just simply cannot handle the detail produced by these models.
How cheap is RAM? This should NEVER be an excuse
It can cost a fortune if you don't install it yourself. Dell tried to charge £900 for 8GB of ram in my new laptop rather than 4GB, so I'm just going to wait until the warranty expires before upgrading :3
OP has a 1992 computer lol.
