Gmod has strange FPS lag

Hello everyone,

First i would like to say i simply LOVE Garry's Mod.

Next thing i want to say is this; My Garry's Mod is having really weird FPS drops since a few weeks. It's not the kind of FPS drops you get when the graphic settings are too high, because it even happens at a resolution of 640x480 and everything at lowest.

Also, every other game i have such as Team Fortress 2, Portal, Grand Theft Auto 4, Crysis, Left 4 Dead 2 and so on run just fine at maximum settings. It's just Garry's Mod which is freaking out.

It happens on every server i join, thus it's not the server causing it.

My system specifications:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8600 3,33Ghz overclocked to 4Ghz (Although it also happens without overclocking, so that's not causing it)
GPU: XFX GeForce 9600 GT XXX Alpha Dog 740M 512MB
PSU: Chieftec A135 750W
Motherboard: MSI X48C Platinum
HDD: 3x Samsung Spinpoint F1 1TB
RAM: OCZ ReaperX HPC 4GB DDR2-800 CL4 kit 4-4-3-12
OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Internet speed in Mbit: 60 down, 6 up

I don't have a router, i'm directly plugged into the cable modem.

Addons i have installed:
PHX (SVN updated)
Wire SVN

Anyone knows a solution for this? Eternal shipments of cookies for the one fixing this problem plagueing me.

garrysmod can only use 1 cpu core because of the lua, try launching gmod, then alt+tab go into task manager > processes > right click hl2.exe and click set affinity and unselect one of the cores. I have seen games lag like gmod does in your video, because the cpu trys balance the program on both cores and ends up worse. If that doesn't work, i don't know what it is. :)
